Minister of Justice Introduces New Draft Law on Organizational Structure and Jurisdiction of Judiciary to House of Representatives
Minister of Justice Dr. Abdul Basir Anwar introduced a new draft law on organizational structure and jurisdiction of the judiciary to the House of Representatives on Saturday January 19th 2019.
While introducing this new draft, he said “This law has been prepared to prevent the phenomenon of corruption within the judicial system and for the purpose of better combating corruption it gives more authorities to the judges”.
The minister of justice added that the said law, encompasses in a comprehensive way, the new terminologies, precise definitions and the authorities and duties of the chief justice and the relevant bureaus.
He added “In the new scheme the terms are more specific and the responsibilities and duties of chief executive and divisions are clearly described”
Dr. Abdul Basir said “This law discusses the appointments, replacements, resignations, rights and privileges, immunities and the authorities of judges”.
He added that this new draft law has been prepared in 7 Chapters and 89 Articles, reflecting the objectives of managing the organizational structure and authorities of courts, personal affairs of judges, and the modality to address with crime committed by judges”.
It is mention worthy that this draft had recently been also approved by the Cabinet and the High Council of Rule of Law.
