His early stages of life.

Esteemed Shaikh-al-hadith Mawlawi Abdul Hakim Sharei is son of Deen Mohammad and grandson of Baz Mohammad. He was born in 1961 in Ayub-Khil village, Laken Tribe, Khust province.

His educational background

He gained his primary educations in Laken High school during the last years of Zaher Sha reign while anti-Islamic movements was initiated by the Communist parties in the country. Communist groups frequently held demonstrations and used disgraceful and insulting words at religious scholars on the streets. Therefore, he was disappointed in conventional modern sciences, but he was naturally interested in religious schools and wanted to study there; thus, he did not continue his studies at the aforementioned high school.

Since Shaikh-al-hadith Mawlawi Abdul Hakim Sharei was so fascinated by the religious studies, he began his religious studies in 1977, at Faizan-al-Ulum a local religious school in Laken village in Khost province under the guidance of local religious scholars. However, as the situation in Afghanistan deteriorated day by day, and the communist party seized power through a coup in 1978, they took the Islamic scholars under great pressure. So, Shaikh Saheb despite of massive challenges, migrated to Pakistan along with his entire family in month of Asad of that year.

Respected Shaikh Saheb, during his entire migration period due to his passion and interests in religious science, continued his religious studies in Kahi Heengo religious school in 1979. Being a highly talented individual, he taught lower-level students alongside his own studies. He then spent five years at (Rustom’s Arabic Darul-Ulum) Tahsil Rostam Zole Mardan, where he studied religious education and completed his advanced studies with high honors under the guidance of his esteemed teachers, Shaikh-al-Hadith Mawlawi Sayed Quraishi Babaji (may God bless him) and Shaikh-al-Hadith Mawlawi Qazi Mohammad Amin Saheb (may God bless him) with high grades at aforementioned religious school, and completed his secondary educations with Shaikh-al-Quran and Hadith Mawlawi Abdul Raziq Saheb (God may bless him) in Rustom’s Arabic Darul-Ulum.

Higher Educations

Shaikh-al-hadith Mawlawi Abdul Hakim Sharei after completing his primary educations went to the renowned Darul-Ulum Haqqania religious school in Akora Khattak, Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan to complete his higher education. He completed his higher educations with excellent grades and received his graduation certificate with excellent grades in 1989.

Simultaneously with his graduation, he taught at Kahi Hanko religious school for three years and at a local religious school in Rahmat Sha Tal region for one year.  Shaikh Saheb taught the religious subjects up to advanced level books at the aforementioned schools. In Afghanistan, he has also taught the minor and major courses including advanced level books at Manba Ul Jihad religious school in center of Khost province, Faizan-al-Ulum religious school in Laken and central corps (Qowl Urdowi Markazi) religious school.

Social Activities and Enduring the Problems and Sorrows

Shaikh-al-Hadith Mawlawi Saheb Abdul Hakim Sharei was elected as a representative by the people of his area in the Shura Ahl-al-Hal wa Al-Aqd during the rule of Burhan-al-Din Rabbani. When the vote of the Shura Ahl-al-Hal wa al-Aqd was taken for Rabbani, the respected Shaikh Saheb did not vote and expressed his dissatisfaction. As during the rule of Rabbani, killings and insecurity increased in Khost province, the people’s comfortable lives faced with a many problems and the fire of conflict ignited among ethnic and jihadi councils. Therefore, considering the sincerity, honesty, knowledge, military and managerial skills, and high talent of Shaikh Saheb, and in order to curb the aforementioned problems and sorrows, at the request and recommendation of the great jihadi commander, Honorable Alhaj Mawlawi Jalaluddin Haqqani (may God have mercy on him) and the jihadi councils of the people of Khost province, the affairs of the Khost province police command were entrusted to him. He fulfilled his responsibilities in the aforementioned matters with complete honesty. Later, this same police command in Khost province became the source of the Islamic Emirate movement.

It is worth mentioning that in the previous reign of the Islamic Emirate, he was first appointed as the governor of Zabul province. He provided such sincere and honest services in Zabul that he won the hearts of the people of Zabul. He later resigned and was then appointed as the governor of Ghor province without an official letter, but he did not go there. After that, he was assigned by the leadership to be in charge of the armored brigade, but he did not go there either. He was then appointed as the governor of Maidan Wardak province, but he did not take on this responsibility.

It is worth mentioning that Shaikh Sahib did not take on these responsibilities and duties because he had spent a long time performing various tasks. He wanted to rest at home for a while. However, the leadership, considering his great talent, did not let him rest and appointed him as the financial and administrative deputy of the Ministry of Justice. Shaikh Sahib accepted this appointment with a series of conditions and carried out the duties of the deputy of this ministry with complete honesty and sincerity until the fall of the previous Emirate. In addition to that, he also taught the course of interpretation and arts in the central corps (Qowl Urdowi Markazi).

After the fall, he gathered his friends on the battlefield to fight against the invaders and their henchmen, and practically started the armed jihad. During this struggle, the American slaves, the notorious spies, were following the respected Shaikh Saheb's jihad activities in order to spy on the Shaikh Saheb's jihad struggle for a few dollars. The Americans, with the cooperation of domestic slaves, launched military operations four times to arrest Shaikh Saheb. In the first raid, Shaikh Saheb was present at home, but thanks be to God, with the help of God Almighty, their attack failed and God saved him. In the second raid, God Almighty saved the respected Shaikh Saheb, but one of his brothers was arrested, who was later released. In the third operation, his same brother was once again arrested and imprisoned in Bagram for about two months. In the fourth operation, all members of his family were imprisoned, but they did not succeed in arresting the respected Shaikh Saheb. In this recent attack, one of Shaikh Saheb's nephews was also injured. Although he recovered from that injury, he was later martyred in a jihadi operation by an American drone attack.

When the Americans and their henchmen failed and became desperate to arrest him, they offered him a seat and concessions. However, the honorable Shaikh Saheb rejected all these offers and requests and continued his jihad activities as before. After a year of hard struggle, he went on a pilgrimage to the Haramin Sharifin for Umrah. Later, under the guidance of the leadership of the Emirate, a four-member committee was formed with the membership of Shaikh Saheb to attract and collect financial aid for the Emirate in Saudi Arabia. The committee collected approximately 20 million Rials in six years, which was handed over to the Emirate through Mutasim Agha, the financial officer of the Emirate. Later, Shaikh Saheb was under serious pursuit by the Saudi government and was finally arrested on 21st of Rabi al-Thani, 1431 AH. He was sentenced to 9 years in prison and a fine of 300,000 Rials by the court of this country. He paid the fine to the Saudi government. In addition to serving the specified period of imprisonment by the court, he was imprisoned for another 4 months. Finally, he was released from prison in the month of Sha'ban 1440 AH and was blessed with freedom.

Upon his release, he was appointed as a member of the leadership council by Amir al-Mu'minin (May Allah Protect Him) and remained in this position until the Emirate came to power. In addition, he was appointed as the head of the Education and Training Commission of the Eastern Zone, where he carried out his duties with great distinction for about 10 months. He was then appointed by the leadership as the head of the courts in the eastern zone, but the honorable Sheikh Saheb declined to accept this responsibility.

The draft agreement with the Americans and NATO member countries, which was entrusted to five erudite and honorable Islamic scholars for a comprehensive and inclusive deliberation, including Sheikh Sahib, namely Shaikh Mawlawi Abdul Hakim Haqqani Saheb, Shaikh Mawlawi Abdul Rasheed Saheb, Shaikh Mawlawi Mohammad Sharif Saheb, Shaikh Mawlawi Mohammad Qasim Turkman Saheb and Shaikh Mawlawi Abdul Hakim Sharei Saheb, was referred to His Excellency Amir al-Mu'minin (May Allah Protect Him) for approval after a thorough discussion of the draft agreement, and the agreement was signed within two weeks.
