Cabinet Approves Six Proposed Draft Legislative Documents of Ministry of Justice
Minister of Justice Abdul Basir Anwar, at a cabinet meeting on Monday, February 10th 2020 chaired by the President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan- Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, presented the draft of 7 legislative documents, six of which were approved in principle.
Minister of justice at the meeting, proposed amendment to clauses 6 and 9 of Article 50th of Public Corporations Law, draft amendment and addition to some articles of officers ,lieutenants and sergeants law, draft law on prisons, draft regulation urban development and Urban land reclamation, draft amendment to some articles of regulation to reduce and prevent air pollution, draft regulation of the Joint Committee of Media and Government, and draft amendment to some articles of the Regulation on unofficial Urban Properties.
The first six of these documents were approved by the Cabinet in Principe, and the Ministry of Justice, in collaboration with the Ministry of Urban Development, Lands and other related agencies, were tasked to as per the guidance of the meeting rectify some of the articles of the Regulation on unofficial Urban Properties draft amendment and provide it to the next meeting of the cabinet.
Dr. Abdul Basir Anwar talking about the purpose of the draft regulation of the Joint Committee on Media and Government, said that it aims to ensure the safety and security of media persons, expedite the process of dealing with violence against media persons, reduce violence, and secure the rights of media workers and coordination between the media and the relevant government agencies.
At the meeting, the Ministry of Justice was also tasked to correct and finalize the plans in line with the cabinet's reform theories.
