Ministry of Justice Emphasizes to Prevent Human and Migrants Trafficking in Kandahar

Provincial Commission for Combating Human and Migrants Trafficking convened a meeting in Kandahar to assess measures to combat human and migrants trafficking.
The meeting was chaired by Kandahar Governor Ruhollah Khanzadeh on Wednesday, 3th of March, with the participation of Naef Riazat, Director of Human Rights Support of the Ministry of Justice and the Secretary of the High Commission for Combating Human and Migrants Trafficking and other members of the commission.
The director of human rights support of the Ministry of Justice stated that the government has set up a mechanism to combat human and migrants trafficking and for this propose, a delegation of the commission traveled first to Nimrooz and then to Kandahar.

He added that it is claimed in Nimrooz that human and migrants trafficking have increased to Iran and Pakistan through Kandahar province, which should be earnestly prevented in the said province. He specified that the delegation also had some assessments in this arena, the results of which will be shared soon.
Likewise, other members of the commission also spoke on the measures taken during this period and the upcoming plans, and the registered cases of human trafficking and migrants trafficking in the last three months and submitted their proposals to prevent human and migrants trafficking.
Meanwhile, Ruhollah Khanzadeh, governor of Kandahar and the director of the provincial commission for combating human and migrants trafficking clarified that the main reason to increase this phenomenon is joblessness and poverty, and all institutions are to be held liable for their prevention.
He added that he will not allow the human trafficking and misuse of the youngsters in this province. He asked the civil and military institutions to seriously implement the plan prepared by the government to combat this phenomenon.
