Visiting the Afghanistan Minister of Justice, the Ambassador of Iran promised to advocate the Republic and Afghanistan Constitution
Qazawatpooh Fazil Ahmad Manawi, Minister of Justice of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with Mr.Bahadoor Aminial, the ambassador of Iran in Kabul, today morning, and discussed the judicial cooperation and extradition of criminals between the two countries.
At the meeting, Mr. Aminian the ambassador of Iran besides congratulating Mr. Manawi on his post as the Minister of Justice, and winning the confidence votes of Afghanistan parliament, said that, the Iran Ministry of Justice is willing to strengthen and enhance the level cooperation and exchange of experiences with the Ministry of Justice of Afghanistan.
Furthermore, he added that Iran hosts over approximately three million and five hundred thousand Afghan refugees and about 20,000 Afghan prisoners are being held there as well. He also said that, Iranian government is ready to (extradite) the above mentioned prisoners to Afghanistan, and likewise expects the Afghanistan government to consider the reciprocal extradition of twenty five Iranian prisoners to the Iran as well.
Appreciating Iran for hosting Afghan refugees, Afghanistan's Minister of Justice said that efforts are being taken to find a logical solution to the problem of Afghan refugees in Iran and the transfer (extradite) of Afghan prisoners from that country.
He added that there is an agreement between Afghanistan and Iran on transfer (extradition) of criminals and efforts are being made to strengthen and implement this agreement.
The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran also said that, the files of 2600 Afghan prisoners in Iranian prisons have been completed and are ready to be transferred to Afghanistan.
Referring to the peace negotiations in Afghanistan, Bahador Aminian also said that, the Iranian government supports the “Republic Political System and the Constitution of Afghanistan” and he expressed hope that these talks would be eventuated in a positive result as soon as possible.
He also added that the Ministry of Justice of Iran would like to invite the ministry of justice of Afghanistan to visit Iran in order to discuss their cooperation and exchange their experiences with Iranian counterparts.
