General Information with regard to Human Rights Protection
Department of Human Rights Protection of the Ministry of Justice is responsible to review the Human Rights legislative and strategic documents which have been accepted by Afghanistan, in the luminosity of the country’s laws and overlook, implement and follow up the suggestions stipulated in those conventions to which Afghanistan has acceded.
In addition, providing Human Rights Trainings to government administrations and proceeding the affairs thereof to the High Commission of Combatting with Human and Migrant Trafficking, is another responsibility being assumed by this department.
High Commission for Combating Human and Migrant Trafficking whose secretary belongs to the Ministry of Justice, consists of 16 members 15 of which are state employees and one remaining member of them is a representative from the civil society. This Commission was established in 2011, in order to create more work coordination and cohesion amongst state administrations in fighting against the human and migrant trafficking.
This department encompasses four sections for carrying out its above mentioned duties.
