Minister of Justice: “The Modernization of Legislation Process is a Fundamental Requirement”

The Ministry of Justice has convened the needs assessment program for the Legislation Affairs and Academic- Legal Researches Institute of the Ministry of Justice with the participation of Minister of Justice, other officials of this ministry and representatives from other relevant entities. This program was conducted with the collaboration of the Rule of Law Support Project and German Cooperation Office (GIZ) in order to assess the necessities of Institute of Legislation Affairs and Academic- Legal Researches of ministry of justice aiming at improving the level of scientific and professional performances and modernizing the process of drafting and scrutinizing the legislative documents.

Qanunpooh Fazil Ahmad Manawi, the minister of justice while appreciating the efforts being taken by Institute of Legislative Affairs of this ministry in the past, pointed out that the necessity assessment for modernization processes of legislation is an essential requirement.  

Furthermore, he accentuated on the willingness of this ministry towards high quality and standard processing of legislative documents both in terms of their forms and contents. 

In this program, Abdul Majid Ghanizada, General Director of the Institute of Legislation and Scientific-Legal Research of the Ministry of Justice, also promised that the institute is committed to providing valuable services in the field of legislation.

During the program, Brand Miser Schmidt, Project Manager of supporting the rule of law Office (GIZ) besides asserting the significance of needs assessment in any department, reassured that this office will continue supporting this program.

Other participants shared their perspectives with regard to this matter and the outcome of this necessity assessment is due to be completed within coming months after conducting painstaking researches.
